What Are Network Graphs?
Network Graphs in PeakMetrics allow you to visually map the relationships between Narratives, authors, and domains to uncover how information flows through your monitored ecosystem. These graphs are dynamically generated based on your current filters and reflect only the content within your favorited Narratives in a Workspace.Key Capabilities
1. Interactive Graph Exploration
- Clickable Nodes: Click on any author or domain to instantly explore related posts, metrics, and content.
- Dynamic Movement: Graphs are fully interactive- click and drag nodes to reposition and explore clusters.
- Zoom and Pan: Use your mouse or trackpad to navigate large graphs with ease.
2. Relationship Mapping
- Each Narrative is represented as a central node connected to the sources (authors or domains) that are contributing to it.
- Edge strength (the lines connecting nodes) represents the volume of contributions or shared content across narratives.
3. Graph Configuration Options
Customize your graph to suit your analysis:- Relationship Strength: Set a threshold for how many posts a source must contribute to a Narrative to appear. (Example: a value of 5 means an author/domain must contribute 5 posts to a single Narrative to be visualized.)
- Maximum Connections: Limit how many sources are displayed per Narrative to simplify the graph and highlight the most influential contributors.
Use Cases
- Narrative Influence Tracking: Identify which authors or outlets are pushing key messages within your topics of interest.
- Coordination Detection: Visual clusters can help reveal potentially coordinated or inauthentic campaigns.
- Stakeholder Monitoring: Map out which influencers, journalists, or communities are active in shaping discourse relevant to your organization.
- Campaign Impact Analysis: Observe how a strategic communication campaign has spread across media and social channels.
Best Practices
- Favorite Narratives First: Only favorited Narratives will appear in your graph. Curate the list based on relevance before entering the Graph view.
- Adjust Relationship Strength to filter out noise or bring more detail into view depending on your goals.
- Look for Clusters: Densely connected areas often point to coordinated behavior, aligned messaging, or audience targeting.
- Click Nodes for Deep Dives: The graph will default to Domains, you can toggle to authors for a different view. All nodes are clickable so allow you to pivot from the graph to content review and further investigation.
Saving and Re-Using Graphs
Graphs are generated in real-time based on active filters and favorites. Currently, graph states are not saved persistently, but screenshots or exports may be used for reporting or presentation purposes. For complex analysis or preservation of a specific view, we recommend noting the filters used and manually recreating the configuration when revisiting.Need Help Interpreting a Graph?
